Dryer venting should be cleaned at least once a year; doing so will greatly increase the lifespan of your dryer and will ensure your dryer work more efficiently, helping you save on energy costs and produce faster drying times.
Having the proper venting installed on your dryer is crucial, you do not want your dryer venting to be installed with vinyl venting because that is against fire code and can cause serious damage to your home. One common venting we see in homes is flexible metal foil venting; you want to stay away from these as well because their flash point is very low and can catch fire easy.
We recommend using solid aluminum venting. This type of venting much safer to use in your household because if a fire does happen then the flame will stay inside the aluminum mesh and not spread throughout your home.
