In this weeks episode of APPLIANCE MASTER LIVE, Bill and Kari talk about cleaning and maintenance tips for your Kitchen Vent Hoods and Down Drafts.
If you’re turning on your Vent Hood and are noticing smoke getting blown into your face then it is probably time to inspect the filters of your unit. Vent Hoods and Down Drafts are known for being one of the most overlooked household appliances in the kitchen.
Vent Hoods use both a charcoal and metal mesh filter. Both of these parts should be cleaned and or replaced once to twice a year depending on the amount of use.
Down Drafts are like Vent Hoods but are found behind Ovens and Ranges that can lift up to open a channel for a high powered fan with filters to blow air outside the home.
One useful tip that Bill recommends you do with both Vent Hoods and Down Drafts is to open a nearby window to help airflow in the house. This will make it much easier for your Vent Hood or Down Draft to pull air through the unit and function properly.
If you’re having any troubles with your Vent Hood or Down Draft give us a call, we’d love to help!
